CES2022: Images from the CES Show

January 8, 2022 By Andrea Smith Leave a Comment

I’m safely back from Las Vegas and have had some time to look through my pictures from the show and pull together my thoughts about what it was like being at the Consumer Electronics Show in the middle of a pandemic.

There was a lot of really interesting, innovative tech at the show and I didn’t even get to see very much of what was there – I had two full work days and only one day to explore one part of the show floor. It was a lot easier to get around though, without the huge crowds of people and for the most part, everyone there was masked. I missed meeting with the bigger brands that pulled out and seeing and catching up with my friends and colleagues in the tech industry but un-crowded CES was a pleasure!
Here are some of the gadgets and technologies that caught my eye at CES2022.

Freezing in the Las Vegas Convention Center doing broadcast TV and Radio interviews in the hours before the show floor opened.

Withing Body Scan scale adds a retractable handle to give you a 6-lead ECG and assess your nerve activity, in addition to a breakdown of your body composition (fat, muscle, and water), tracking vascular health, and measuring your heart rate.
The Targus Cypress Hero backpack has built-in Apple Find My support so you’ll never lose it, and it’s made from recycled water bottles.

Lots of talk about the Metaverse and VR

A strangely soothing motorized cat. Actually, a therapeutic robot in the form of a cushion with a tail, but creepy without the head.
Jabra’s Elite 4 earbuds are affordable true wireless earbuds for working out – and they come in purple!
Garmin’s Venu 2 plus adds a speaker and mic on top of all the health and fitness tracking features, so you can take calls from your wrist.
This is the Labrador Retriever, a personal robot designed to help people live independently, providing practical, physical assistance with everyday tasks. It can move large loads from place to place or bring items to a user with mobility issues.
Roborock’s S7 MaxV Ultra is a robot mop and vac that is truly hands free. It holds up to 7 weeks of dust and debris and cleans the mop head after every cleaning. Then it refills the mop-vac tank with clean water for the next round.
I first wrote about Owlet back in 2012 when it was just a school project and am thrilled to see the company thriving. Owlet just released the Owlet Dream Duo to track and give parents a complete picture of their baby’s sleep, including sleep quality indicators like number of wakings, movement, humidity and more.
LG’s booth went all digital this year. No products, just you and a QR code reader.
GE Lighting showed additions to its smart home ecosystem, Cync, adding a Smart Thermostat and Temperature Sensor and a line of Outdoor Security Cameras.
Govee’s Glide Wall Lights are colorful, smart and music reactive. You can customize and display up to 55 colors at one time. Simply snap the segments together and create your own designs and color combinations that can react to music, or you can use Alexa to control them hands-free. Gamers love these!
Chipolo made a credit card-sized tracker that easily slides into a wallet, giving you Find My tracking capability without having to buy an Apple Air Tag

This pillow is designed to inflate and deflate as you sleep, to keep you from snoring.
The Liddle speaker attaches to a MagSafe phone or to a wall magnetically for great sound anywhere.
A very thin crowd at CES Unveiled, the kickoff event for CES. This is usually packed with people and booths.
Setting up for broadcast TV and Radio interviews from my hotel room the day before the show officially opened.
Doing live interviews with stations across the country
This TP-Link Wi-Fi 6E router automatically repositions its antennas for better Wi-Fi coverage.

Last day of work after a 3am wake-up call – my producer and I went straight to the massage chairs!
