Watch This Heart-Wrenching Documentary on the Dangers of Texting and Driving

Three little words can be so powerful. I’m not talking about “I love you.” I’m talking about the ability to still say “I love you” by saying and remembering “It Can Wait.”

We’ve seen video and read so many harrowing stories about the dangers of texting and driving but let’s face it, we’re still doing it.

I confess to doing it myself when stopped at a light, or if I’m using Siri so I feel like I’m not really texting. The bottom line is – once your concentration is elsewhere, you’re basically a distracted driver.

AT&T’s It Can Wait campaign is supported by the four largest U.S. wireless carriers, as well as over 200 other organizations nationwide. More than 2 million people have signed up and taken the pledge not to text and drive.

Now, acclaimed film maker Werner Herzog has directed a short film highlighting the aftermath of texting and driving. Not just a 2-minute video for attention-challenged mobile consumers, but an actual documentary featuring real people who have been impacted by a texting while driving accident.

The 35-minute film, “From One Second to the Next” can be viewed here and will also be distributed to more than 40,000 high schools nationwide. What a powerful message it sends. Scary, sobering, and thought-provoking. Hopefully, conversation starting.

Go ahead, watch a few moments of it and see if you don’t already feel their pain.

You can sign up to take the pledge yourself at itcanwait.com.
