Samsung Galaxy Tab from Verizon, out of this world pricing

Verizon Wireless has announced pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Tab; $599. After some time playing with it at the  launch event, I asked PCMag.com mobile analyst Sascha Segan what he thought the pricing should end up being.  He said it would be a great seller at around $299 plus data for $20 a month, but might not do as well at $599.

I liked the 7-inch touch screen, despite what Steve Jobs had to say about 7-inch tablets, but $599 is out of this world for pricing, especially since the iPad starts at $499 and is now available with a Verizon Wireless plan.

Research in Motion is also releasing their tablet, called the PlayBook, with an as yet unknown price.

The release says VW customers can add a monthly access plan, so no word on rebates for this tablet.

VERIZON WIRELESS PUTS SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB™ IN STORES IN NOVEMBER
